Days of heavy rains have raised the level of the Arkansas River in southern Colorado. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting that the river will not flood at this time.
Fountain Creek is running swiftly from El Paso to Pueblo County and the confluence with the Arkansas.
At La Junta, the 8:15 am reading of gauges shows that the river is 8>4 feet deep. Flood stage is 10 feet.
