An inmate who escaped from an Arizona prison is due in court to face arraignment on charges stemming from a shootout during his capture in western Colorado.
Daniel Renwick faces three counts of attempted murder, vehicular eluding and possession of a weapon by a previous offender when he appears in court Tuesday in Glenwood Springs .
Renwick is one of three convicts who escaped on July 30 from a privately run prison in Kingman, Ariz.
Police said Renwick, who was in prison for a second-degree murder conviction, fired shots at them during a three-mile chase Aug. 1 in and near the town of Rifle, about 180 miles west of Denver.
Officers said they rammed his SUV with a patrol car.
Renwick also faces a charge of being a fugitive.
