Colorado Springs Police are investigating an email sent to anti-tax crusader Douglas Bruce, sent from one of their officers.
Bruce tells NF5 "I'm not asking for the detective to be fired, but he should be reprimanded."
The email was sent from an officer using his city police email. It asks "Punched any reporters lately?"
The question is apparently a reference to Bruce's 2008 incident when he was a state lawmaker and kicked, or tapped as Bruce says, a news photographer who took a picture of him during a legislative prayer.
Bruce thinks the email's politically motivated because he always fights for lower taxes and smaller government, which would mean a smaller police department.
"(The email) shows that the police department is overstaffed if they have people who can sit around and think of somebody to send nasty emails to," said Bruce.
Springs Police can't comment on internal investigations.
