LONDON, ENGLAND - A luxury apartment building in London installed spikes near the entrance to deter homeless people from hanging around and sleeping there.
Photos of the metal studs have been posted on social media, causing an uproar over the issue. Residents in the building said they were not consulted about the spikes before the installation. An anonymous resident said he only saw one homeless man sleeping there in six weeks time. Many human rights activists are saying that those spikes are just moving the problem, not solving it.
London Mayor, Boris Johnson, distanced himself from the issue earlier in the week and is now asking that they be removed as soon as possible.
