Rain is a good bet once again today, but some areas will miss out after nearly all of our area got a good helping of rain over the weekend.
Today's rain, like over the weekend, could mean more flash flooding near the burn scars. Today is a day to be weather aware and be ready to move to higher ground if flash flooding occurs. Minor flooding is also possible along the Arkansas River. A Flood Warning (not a Flash Flood Warning) is in effect along the Arkansas River in Otero, Crowley, and Bent counties through Monday evening. At 1:15 AM Monday, the Arkansas River near Fowler was measured at 5.8 feet. Flood stage is 8.0 feet, and the river is expected to crest Monday afternoon near 8.0 feet. Minor flooding of mainly agricultural lands is possible near the river.
Temperatures will warm into the 80's around Colorado Springs today with 90's along and south of the Arkansas River. Rain will be most favored in the mountains, but some of that rain could move out of the mountains late this afternoon and this evening.
