Food and Drug Administration officials say they will review the safety of three anemia drugs after research linked one of the drugs to strokes.

The medications include Johnson & Johnson's Procrit, and Amgen's Epogen and Aranesp.

The clinical trial from 2004 involved diabetic and kidney disease patients taking Aranesp. Those who took the drug were no more likely to die than those on a placebo but had about double the rates of stroke.
