There's a lot of construction going on right now at Fort Carson, but the centerpiece is the new Combat Aviation Brigade.

News 5 got an exclusive tour on Tuesday.

The Combat Aviation Brigade is $700 million worth of construction, putting up about 15 to 20 buildings over the next four or five years.

Crews say the brigade is coming together well, it's just a long process. More than 800 soldiers are already at Fort Carson. By the time they all get here, it'll be a force of 2,700 personnel and 113 helicopters.

"We've added a number of facilities and infrastructure on Fort Carson, but this now is our focus (CAB) as we go forward," says Hal Alguire, director of Public Works for Fort Carson.

The Mountain Post has had several other projects going too.

For the last several years they've averaged about $500 million dollars in construction, each year, according to Alguire.
