The long, nasty allergy season has launched a new concern. Doctors are worried that allergy sufferers are now at risk for serious infections, including pneumonia.
Doctors are seeing ear infections, bronchitis and other serious complications from allergies, but their greatest fear is pneumonia. "That's what you absolutely don't want to see," said Dr. Chris Dreiling, Pediatrician. "That can put a child into the hospital. It's much more dangerous than other sorts of complications."
Doctors say if the allergies are clobbering you, use a saline wash to clean out your sinuses. Try showering before bed to wash off pollen.
