The man accused of the attempted murder of a Pueblo police officer and his family may be a serial rapist.

Robert Bruce, 47, was arrested last month after he allegedly tried to blow-up the Pueblo West home of PPD officer Nathan Pruce. Pruce was scheduled to testify in a Peeping Tom case against Bruce. The police officer and his family were not injured.

The Pueblo Police Department reported Monday that investigators following-up on the case contacted the police department in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Bruce was linked by DNA evidence to 11 rapes dating back two decades.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that DNA has also linked Bruce to one rape in Austin Texas. Lubbock is also reporting two DNA matches on rape cases there. Rapes were typically committed in the vicinity of college campuses.

Bruce was advised of his rights in Pueblo District Court Monday on the Albuquerque cases. He's being held on $3 million bond.
