The Mark Reyner Stables in Colorado Springs have a new addition on their property -- an indoor riding facility, which houses the non-profit Colorado Springs Therapeutic Riding Center.

The center specializes in offering horse-based therapy riding programs for kids and adults living with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities to help them cope with their condition, as well as to help them build self-confidence and social skills.

By noon, hundreds, if not thousands, of people piled into the building to celebrate the building's grand opening.

There was sand-digging, toy car races, face painters, and even horse rides for kids of all ages to enjoy, and everything was free. To top it off, a proper cowboy's barbecue was served at high noon for a small donation.

For the grown-ups, there was a garage sale and a silent auction. All the proceeds from the auction go to help fund the therapeutic riding center. The owners hope that in future years, all the special needs riders will be able to enjoy the therapy sessions at no cost.
