Maybe this isn't the best story to share as local activists are encouraging people to bike to work. But police in Alaska say a 45-year-old man riding his bicycle to work survived a grizzly bear attack.
Anchorage police say Sean Berkey was riding his bike to his office at the Alaska Native Medical Center on Tuesday morning when a young female brown bear with a cub charged at him.
Police say the pediatric pharmacist tried to put the bike between him and the sow, but he suffered a laceration to his ear and puncture wounds to his right calf.
