Ireland's western airports quickly reopened today once it became clear that a 1,000-mile-long cloud of volcanic ash from Iceland would stay sufficiently offshore. But the Irish Aviation Agency warns the cloud lurking offshore could move in if the wind changes.
Ireland's two major airlines, Ryanair and Aer Lingus, shifted services to other airports during the early-morning shutdowns of other facilities.
