Airplane part falls onto NY home's front lawn

An airplane part fell from the sky and landed on the front lawn of a home on Long Island, New York.
Authorities are looking into how it happened. Residents called police Thursday evening to report a suspicious object on the home's lawn in Roosevelt.
Officers found a 3-foot-by-4-foot cone-shaped piece of metal. Investigators determined it had fallen from a commercial airplane. Police didn't immediately say which airline owned the part.
No one was injured.
