An Airman, under custody, remains at large.
Herbert Mullens, escaped custody in Teller County was facing several charges including driving while intoxicated. According to a release from Peterson AFB, Herbert Mullens also faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The airman attended a pretrial confinement hearing on Peterson AFB yesterday in which it was determined he will remain in confinement. He took off before he could be taken back to the Teller County Jail.
Initial reports indicate he could have been in the Woodland Park area. While he is still at large, Mullens is not considered dangerous. Security forces from Peterson AFB are working in conjunction with local police organizations to bring the accused into custody.
