Air Natl. Guard C-130 makes emergency landing at C.S. Airport

Colorado Springs Fire Department and Airport Emergency crews have been on stand by for an aircraft emergency at the Colorado Springs Airport. The initial report came in around 10:30am Sunday of an Air Force C-130 Hercules with a landing gear problem.

The crew of 5 aboard the aircraft circled to the East of the airport for more than an hour to burn off fuel and to try to fix the problem in the air. As of 11:55am the aircraft landed on runway 35 which is the Eastern most runway at the Airport and Peterson Air Force Base.
