The Air Force women's basketball team closes out its home slate this Tuesday, March 3, when it hosts New Mexico in a 7:00 p.m. contest.

Last Season: New Mexico swept Air Force in a pair of contests last season, defeating the Falcons, 72-67, at the Academy on Feb. 6, while picking up a 65-59 victory in Albuquerque on March 9. The two teams have not played each other this season.
Last Time Out...
The Falcons were plagued by turnovers in an 87-43 road loss to UNLV on Saturday. Junior Jimi Blagowsky and sophomore Missy Byrd were the leading scorers for Air Force, finishing with 12 points each, while sophomore Madeleine Philpot added 10 points and a team-leading five rebounds.
Scouting the Falcons...
Air Force enters this week's game with a 1-25 overall record and 0-16 mark in the Mountain West following its road loss to UNLV on Saturday.
The Falcons are led by junior Jimi Blagowsky, who is averaging 11.1 points per game, while senior Camille Thompson adds 10.7 points per contest. Meanwhile, Air Force's leading rebounder is sophomore Madeleine Philpot with 4.3 boards per contest.
Scouting the Lobos...
New Mexico currently holds a 9-18 overall record on the season and a 4-12 mark in the Mountain West. The Lobos are coming off a 60-55 loss to Nevada on Saturday.
Antiesha Brown leads the Lobos with 14.1 points per game, while Khadijah Shumpert (10.6 ppg), Ebony Walker (10.3 ppg) and Sara Halasz (10.1 ppg) are also averaging in double figures scoring. Shumpert is also New Mexico's leading rebounder, with 6.0 boards per game.
Air force in the Mountain West RANKINGS...
Through games of March 1, Air Force ranks ninth in the Mountain West in assists per game (12.8). The Falcons also rank eighth in the league in three-point field goal percentage defense (.342) and assists (12.8) in conference games only.
Individually, junior Jimi Blagowsky ranks 11th in the Mountain West in three-point field goals made per game (1.5).
New Mexico in the Mountain West RANKINGS...
Through games of March 1, New Mexico ranks second in the Mountain West in rebounding defense (35.8), rebounding margin (+4.2) and offensive rebounding percentage (.378). The Lobos also rank second in the league in rebounding defense (35.0) and defensive rebounding percentage (.700) in conference games only.
Individually, Khadijah Shumpert ranks third in the conference in offensive rebounds (3.2) and sixth in blocked shots (1.2), while Kianna Keller and Deeva Vaughn rank fourth and 10th, respectively, in blocked shots per game. Antiesha Brown ranks seventh in the league in scoring with 14.1 points per game, while Bryce Owens is 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.3).
Celebrating the seniors...
Prior to Tuesday's game against New Mexico, Air Force will honor the members of its senior class, which features two practice players, one team manager and three players-captains Michelle Ivey, Cherae Medina and Camille Thompson.
Madeleine in double figures...
Sophomore Madeleine Philpot reached double-figures in the Falcons' contest at UNLV on Saturday, finishing with a career-high-tying 10 points against the Lady Rebels. Philpot, who matched a career high with four field goals, was also Air Force's leading rebounder against UNLV, grabbing five rebounds.
Falcons in the record books...
Three different Falcons have entered the program's Division I career record books so far this season. Senior Cherae Medina currently ranks second in Air Force's Division I era in career assists with 229, while ranking ninth in career three-point field goal percentage (.299) and 10th in career three-point field goals made (66) and attempted (221). Meanwhile, junior Jimi Blagowsky ranks eighth in career three-point field goal percentage (.302) in the Division I era.
In addition, senior Camille Thompson now ranks fourth in the Falcons' record book for career games played with 115.
Shooting well this season...
The Falcons have two players who currently rank among the top 10 in single-season field goal percentage (Division I era) at the Academy. Sophomore Missy Byrd ranks second on the list with a season field goal percentage of .480, while junior Lindsey Lewis ranks 10th at .438.
The Falcons wrap up the regular season this Friday, March 7, when they visit Boise State in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
