MANHATTAN, Kan. - Air Force baseball dropped a 4-0 ballgame at Kansas State Wednesday afternoon in front of 2,649 fans at Tointon Family Stadium. The Falcons dropped to 4-15 on the season and the Wildcats improved to 13-7.
Kansas State plated a run in the third, two in the sixth and one in the seventh. Five Wildcat pitchers combined to hold the Falcons to two hits on the day.
Air Force starting pitcher Steven Trojan (1-4) took the loss, despite allowing just one run in three innings of work. Bo Wilson pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Ben Yokley pitched the sixth inning and Nathan Stanford pitched the seventh and eighth innings for the Falcons.
Kansas State starting pitcher Colton Kalmus (1-1) picked up the win with 3.2 hitless innings of work in the predetermined pitch-count outing.
The Wildcats had 10 hits on the day. Third baseman R.J. Santigate and left fielder Clayton Dalrymple had two hits and an RBI each.
The Falcons had base hits by right fielder Spencer Draws and catcher Brian Sicher. First baseman Seth Kline also reached base with a walk.
Air Force returns to action Friday, beginning a three-game conference series at Nevada.
