COLORADO SPRINGS -A student at Air Academy High School had to be taken to the hospital after school administrators say she became violently ill from eating a marijuana-laced brownie.
She began showing symptoms at around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
District 20 spokesperson Nanette Anderson says a male student gave the pastry to the girl and that she was fully aware of what she was eating.
No other children are believed to have consumed the drug.
The incident is under investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. In addition to potential criminal charges, Anderson says the students will face disciplinary action.
