A new study reveals African American boys may be at particular risk for food allergies.

The National Institutes of Health survey included data on antibody levels that would flag allergies to peanuts, milk, eggs and shrimp.

The odds of male black children having food allergies was more than 4 times higher than the general population.

The study was led by researchers at the NIH's National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
