COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Air Force senior Grant Parker has been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through November 29. This is the first weekly accolade of Parker's career.
Parker led the Falcons past Charleston Southern, 68-58, last Saturday night with the first double-double of his career. Parker scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds to post AFA's first double-double since Taylor Stewart had 13 points and 10 boards vs. CSU Bakersfield on Nov. 16, 2008. His 11 rebounds were the most by an Air Force player since Jacob Burtschi had 12 at Stanford on Nov. 22, 2006.
The senior forward from Aurora, Colo., who scored his career-high of 26 points in the season-opener against Western State, currently leads the team in scoring at 16.8 points per game, which is the fifth-highest average in the Mountain West Conference. He is also tied for fourth in the league in rebounding at 7.0 per contest.
