Perhaps they have a future in diplomacy.
The Air Force Academy Forensics debate team has earned the No. 1 ranking in a National Parliamentary Tournament of Excellence poll.
Cadet 1st Class Brandon Paquette and Cadet 3rd Class Matthew Hendrickson led the Academy to its first-ever No. 1 ranking in debate competition. The Academy duo also ranks No. 2 in the country with 13 preliminary victories.
"I cannot begin to describe how proud I am of Cadets Hendrickson and Paquette," said Dr. Gina Iberri-Shea, director of forensics for the USAFA team. "I am constantly reminded of the immense value of this activity, and I have not come across more honorable, kind, or dedicated young men. Not only do they put in countless hours of work toward their own improvement, they continuously teach and mentor the new members of our team.
"They are my perfect examples of strength in leadership. Their first place ranking is the product of long hours, hard work, critical minds and immense talent."
