An Air Force Academy cadet was convicted Thursday in two sex cases, but he was then acquitted of in a third sex assault case.
The verdict was returned about 9:30 p.m. by a panel of seven Air Force officers.
Cadet 2nd Class Stephan Claxton faces a maximum of nine years in a military prison on the convictions, authorities said.
He was convicted of attempted abusive sexual contact in connection with an incident in March 2011, in which he forced a female cadet to touch his genitals.
Claxton was also convicted of wrongful sexual contact and assault and battery in a November 2011 incident during which he reportedly beat another cadet.
But he was acquitted of two counts of wrongful sexual contact in a May 2011 incident that occurred in a hotel room.
