It is Coaches versus Cancer week across America, and the cause has taken on a whole new meaning for the Air Force basketball team.
Assistant coach Drew Long is battling rectal cancer.
The 32-year old is in his second week of radiation and chemotherapy. He's been down in his hometown of Houston since Thanksgiving with his wife and three kids.
Falcons head coach Dave Pilipovich got pretty emotional at this week's press conference.
"We've been hit a little closer to home this year," said Pilipovich. "That block out we missed on Saturday, it doesn't mean that much. The offensive charge call or the missed wide open three-- when you think about it, this is the most important thing--getting him healthy and being there for his wife and kids and living a long life."
Coach P. said Long's spirit is high and he hopes to be back soon.
