WASHINGTON (AP) - The top U.S. military officer says it's too early to speculate whether the international military assault on Libya will bring an end to Moammar Gadhafi's regime. Adm. Mike Mullen says the mission could achieve its stated goals without forcing Gadhafi from power. U.S. officials have said the missile strikes and jet fighter patrols begun yesterday are meant to prevent Gadhafi from inflicting further violence on his own people.
