Adams State College in Alamosa has received a federal housing grant to train youths in economics to make them better homeowners. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced the $599,935 grant on Tuesday.

The money will be used to give economic training to young people in hopes of making them better homeowners later. Part of the grant will also be used for jobs training for people with disabilities and for environmental jobs training.
