COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say an infant from Colorado who was allegedly abducted by her father has been found safe in Oklahoma.

Colorado Springs police said Wednesday the girl was left with a firefighter at a fire station in Lawton, Okla., by her father, 24-year-old Derik Hembree. Police say Hembree is a soldier who is absent without leave.

Police say Hembree left the fire station and his whereabouts are unknown.

Authorities say Hembree took 1-month-old Brooke Hembree on Aug. 4 in violation of a custody order.

Social services workers in Colorado are making arrangements to bring the baby back to Colorado.
