Some of the coldest air so far this season is in place across Colorado. Tonight with clearing skies and calming winds temperatures will plummet. By Monday morning many areas on the eastern plains will be in the single digits and teens, with some of the cold mountain valleys up to 10 below zero. High temperatures for the week ahead will be cool, but right about average for this time of year. Dry weather is expected to persist all the way into next weekend.

Monday forecast:

Colorado Springs: A mostly sunny day, light winds, high 46

Pueblo: Sunshine, light winds, high 53

Monument: Mostly sunny with light winds, high 53

Teller County: Sunshine, light winds, high 41
