A powerful storm system is headed our way with strong wind, very cold air and snow. A cold front will hit Colorado Springs around 8pm, Pueblo 9pm, strong north wind with the front and then snow developing late tonight over El Paso and Teller counties then spreading south overnight. In Colorado Springs only a trace to 1" of snow by noon tomorrow, Northern El Paso county and Teller county 1-3". Wind gusting from 25 to 35 mph will cause blowing snow and dangerous travel. Pueblo and the eastern plains will only get a dusting of snow. Fremont county a trace to 1". Walsenburg to Trinidad 3-6" by 5pm tomorrow. The Sangre de Cristo and Wet mountains can expect 5-11" by late tomorrow evening. Travel into the mountains will be hazardous and slow. Check road reports because you may need adequate snow tires or chains to cross some of the high mountain passes.
