9-11 Remembrances in Southern Colorado

Today is the 8th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on our country. Here are some local remembrances:


* 2,977 flags will be placed outside UCCS's new Science and Engineering Building in honor of the victims.
* Mitchell High School, J-ROTC will hold a memorial honoring a Mitchell graduate who was aboard one of the planes that hit the World Trade Center.
* Air Academy High School, District 20 Air Force ROTC Senior AeroSpace Science Instructor Lt. Col. James Weyer will recount for Air Academy High School students what it was like that day when he was in the Pentagon during the Sept. 11 attacks.
* Fort Carson soldiers are holding a Remembrance Run.
* Pueblo firefighters and police officers will gather at Gateway Park on the Riverwalk.
