HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - A retired West Michigan doctor has skydived for the first time at age 84.
Brookdale Senior Living has granted Edna Doyle's wish as part of its partnership with Wish of a Lifetime.
Fifty friends and neighbors from Freedom Village at Holland retirement community cheered Doyle on Friday. She describes her jump as "exhilarating."
Doyle has traveled to each of the Earth's continents, but says skydiving was something she'd dreamed of doing.
Born in Ireland, Doyle attended college in Switzerland before immigrating to the United States. She worked as a physical therapist and retired as a physician at age 73.
Wish of a Lifetime was established in 2008. The partnership with Brookdale Senior Living was formed two years later. More than 250 senior citizens have had wishes granted.
