Safeway says it has reached a tentative three-year labor agreement covering about 600 workers represented by Teamsters Local 455.
The agreement covers Denver distribution center employees, drivers and milk plant employees who are scheduled to vote on the agreement Jan. 24.
Safeway's Denver Division President Scott Grimmett said Friday that the new agreement is fair for employees while allowing Safeway to remain competitive. Contract details weren't released. A Local 455 representative didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
Safeway is still trying to reach a new contract with thousands of grocery workers represented by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7.
