A house fire killed a 6-year old boy in the town of Segundo near Trinidad, early Wednesday morning.
The fire took place at 9050 CR 45.4 in Segundo. The house was occupied by seven people. The boy died from what is believed to be smoke inhalation. Another person was airlifted from the home.
The fire was brought under control by of joint of effort of the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department and the Cokedale Volunteer Fire Department.
The residence did suffer a great deal of damage from both fire and smoke. The incident is still under investigation by the Las Animas County Sheriff's Department.
