COLORADO SPRINGS - A 3 alarm fire at an apartment complex on February 20 caused an estimated $540,000 in damage, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department. The fire, at the Courtyard Estates apartment complex at 4350 East Pikes Peak, took 14 vehicles and 55 firefighters to put out. Two apartments were damaged by the fire itself, and five were damaged by water and smoke.
100 people were displaced from the apartment complex.
The fire was accidentally started by grease on a kitchen stove.
