Firefighters near Carlsbad, California now report that at least 30 homes have been destroyed by a wind blown, fast moving wildfire.
Temperatures in the triple digits, along with low humidity, and gusting winds are fanning the flames.
The fire has also forced the evacuation of more than 15,000 people from homes, schools and businesses.
The Legoland California amusement park has been shut down due to a power outage.
The blaze was one of several that firefighters in San Diego County were battling amid hot, dry, windy conditions.
The fire on the outskirts of San Diego has threatened thousands more homes, and is considered 25-percnt contained. So far, it's burned more than 1,500 acres.
