3-year-old accidentally shoots himself in the foot

Fountain Police are investigating an accidental shooting of a 3-year old. The accident happened at the 200 the block of Turf Trail Place in the Fountain area early this morning. Police say that the child found a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun in the master bedroom and accidentally shot himself in the foot. The boy's mother was at home at the time of the shooting while the father was at work Police say the mother did not witness the shooting. The boy was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The case remains under investigation.
