3 hunters still missing in Flattops Wilderness Area

NEW CASTLE, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado National Guard is helping with the search for three hunters missing in the Flattops Wilderness in the western part of the state.

The Denver Post reports that a National Guard helicopter helped as crews on the ground looked for the hunters in heavy snow and wind Tuesday, the second day of the search.

The three men were reported missing Sunday evening by two other members of their hunting party. The missing hunters failed to return to their camp on Saturday evening and the two other hunters searched all day Sunday looking for them before calling authorities.

Search teams from Garfield, Eagle and Mesa counties are looking for the missing hunters using four-wheelers and snowmobiles.
