Students at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs held a special 9-11 servic.
At 8:30 Friday morning they put up 2,977 flags to remember everyone who died in the terror attacks.
They also honored all officers who are ready to risk their lives for our safety, by giving a gift basket to the Colorado Springs Police officers based at the UCCS campus.
"We decided to do this so we could represent what happened on this day," said Joshua Manweiler, president of te College Republicans, "we wanted to show that uccs will never forget this day and that it's a day that was tragic for all of us."
The College Republicans organized the event, which was endorsed by University President Pam Shockley-Zalabak.
The flags will be on display in front of the new science and engineering building until 3:30pm Friday afternoon.
