PUEBLO - A 2-year-old girl who, according to police, was abused by her foster parents, died from her injuries early Wednesday morning. On August 21st, 2-year-old Chassie Pietrolungo was taken to the hospital. Doctors there found bleeding of the brain, bruising to her rear end, face and head. She also showed signs of possible sex abuse.
Chassie's foster parents, Sarah Finn, 23, and Paul Finn, 36, told police that Chassie had fallen down the stairs. They were both arrested and charged with child abuse. Following Chassie's death, additional charges are possible.
Sarah Finn is currently charged with child abuse reulting in serious bodily injury, a class three felony.
Paul Finn is currently charged with withholding proper medical care, a class 4 felony.
The Finns were in the process of adopting Chassie.
