Two employees with the Teller County Sheriff's Office are facing child abuse charges. Kendal Klug and Joni Coleman were arrested just after midnight, early Saturday morning by Park County Deputies.
The deputies were originally responding to a call of a unresponsive male. When they got to the house, just northwest of Lake George on County Road 77, they say they found two intoxicated adults and four unsupervised children. Park County says the children were turned over to responsible adults.
As for the two arrested, one of them is a detention officer and the other is a jail deputy sheriff with the Teller County Sheriff's Office. Teller County put out a release on Monday acknowledging the arrests, but saying that they aren't releasing more information.
News First 5 pulled court records on both Klug and Coleman. Klug pleaded guilty to a driving while ability impaired charge last December; he's currently on a differed sentence. Coleman pleaded guilty to a driving under the influence charge from April 2009.
Now they're both facing misdemeanor child abuse charges in Park County.
