Aspen police have jailed two men on suspicion of shoplifting $27,000 worth of high-end clothing, champagne and other goods.

They were arrested Wednesday. Authorities allege shoplifted from at least six shops in Aspen and possibly from merchants in Vail.

Police say they found nearly 60 stolen items in a rental car, including jackets by North Face, Marmot, Polo and others, six bottles of Cristal champagne and Prada hats.

Investigators are contacting shops they believe the items were taken from. It's not clear when the thefts began.

The suspects are being held under $50,000 bail each on suspicion of theft, impersonation, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana.
