CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) - A Douglas County grandmother could face charges of child abuse after two children under the age of five were found wandering alone outside in temperatures reportedly just above freezing.

The Denver Post reports that the two children, as well as a 16-year-old under the care of 42-year-old Yolanda Borders were taken into the custody Tuesday of human services. Borders was issued a summons on suspicion of child abuse.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
