The Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG) is a multi-sport festival for athletes of all ages and athletic abilities including those with physical disabilities or visual impairment. Recognized by the National Congress of State Games, a member of the United States Olympic Committee.

Last year, more than 9,000 athletes from 90 Colorado cities and towns, plus competitors from several other states in select sports, took part in the 12th Rocky Mountain State Games conducted by the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation.

That was a record for the number of athletes who competed in the annual multi-sport spectacular that brings together athletes from across the state, and some from nearby states where their sports is not offered in their version of the event.

The previous best was 7,103 athletes in the 2012 Games.
