GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - The Olathe Town Board is canceling its long-running Sweet Corn Festival this year over budget problems.
Town clerk Bobbi Sale says the board has to focus on essential services and they hope it will resume next year.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, this year's festival was planned for Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. It would have been the 22nd year celebrating the unique regional summer event.

A three car crash has closed Westbound Airport Road between Academy Blvd. and Murray on the Springs South East side.
The alleged driver of a Chevy full sized pick-up reportedly ran away from the accident on foot.
Police ask drivers to avoid the area while they continue their investigation.

The Bureau of Land Management will be monitoring a small fire in the San Isabel National Forest tonight.
Smoke jumpers parachuted in to fight the fire.
It is about three acres in size, and officials believe lightning is the cause of the fire.

There is a small fire reported burning at the Don K Ranch near Siloam Road and Highway 96, about an hour out in Pueblo county.
Woody Percival with the Pueblo Fire Department says there are no working fires in the city of Pueblo, but gusty wind is making for bad visibility in the area. He was not able to confirm whether the fire off of Siloam is a wildland fire or a structure.
