Democratic party gets free gas on taxpayers' dime

Members of the committee hosting the Democratic National Convention are filling their tanks at Denver city-owned gas pumps. When questioned about the practice, mayor Hickenlooper's office said that Republicans were getting the same deal from their host city. Republicans quickly rebutted that statement, saying they are paying full price for all gas.
The issue came up when the public works department asked to be reimbursed for the fuel. The mayor's office now says the city "will be reimbursed fully and at market rate" and all taxes will be paid to the proper authorities.
