The dream of a white Christmas came true this year as people awoke to find Colorado Springs covered in snow.

The sledding hill at Cottonwood Park was covered with kids and parents who went out to have fun in the snow. Many had never seen a white Christmas before.

Gas prices in Colorado Springs and Pueblo are falling. Rudy's store on Hightway 24 offered unleaded regular at 2.77 per gallon today. The average for the Springs is 3.03 a gallon. Pueblo is slightly higher at 3.14.

In the final days of holiday shopping small businesses in Manitou Springs saw a much needed rush of customers.

Firefighters were called out to a structure fire around 7:30 p.m. tonight on Leta Dr. That's just off of Hallam Ave. in Security.

When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the chimney.  They say the fire was contained to the fire box and did not spread to the rest of the home.

It took crews about ten minutes to get the fire under control.

Firefighters want to remind everyone with a fireplace to get it cleaned every year.
