In the last hour or so, several highways on the eastern plains have reopened. Below is a list of the highways still closed as well as the ones that recently reopened.

Still Closed:
SH 71 between Limon and Last Chance
SH 86 between Kiowa and I-70

Now Open:
US 24 between Colorado Springs and Limon
US 40 between Limon and Kansas
US 287 between Eads and Kit Carson

Roadways near downtown Colorado Springs are quickly getting wet as a blast of snow has also reduced visibility in the area. Splashback is the primary concern so far, but wet roadways could quickly freeze in and turn slippery amid sub-freezing temperatures.
