FEMA Administrator visits NORTHCOM in Springs

FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate met with General Charles Jacoby of NORTHCOM in Colorado Springs today. Fugate says he is here to discuss and evaluate how NORTHCOM can better assist in disaster relief. General Jacoby says that they went over lessons learned from recent national events like Hurricane Sandy and wildfires across the US last year. NORTHCOM oversees security from the sky for all of North America.

Serving others at Care and Share

Serving others at Care and Share

About 170 volunteers spent this Martin Luther King Day helping out at Care and Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs, sorting and packing food. It's to mark National Day of Service.

People came from several local places, like Peterson Air Force Base.

All of the food sorted on Monday will be distributed across the state. Care and Share passes out about 17-million pounds of food every year in southern Colorado.
