Longtime hero for animals dies

Wes Metzler has passed away after a lengthy illness. Dr. Metzler led the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region for 17 years. Under his leadership the society expanded to it's prominence in caring and adoption of animals.
Dr. Metzler died Saturday, he was 73.
