    We have some good news and some bad news about the flu season in Colorado.  The good news is it's been a relatively slow flu season.  Through late November there have only been 32 people hospitalized for the flu, and only 8 of those have been in El Paso county.  The bad news according to Dr. Ian Tullberg, Urgent Care Medical Director with UCHealth Memorial is that we can't just focus on the good news.

That's far more deaths in the United States than from breast cancer, stroke, and auto accidents combined.  Sepsis can strike anyone at anytime and according to the Centers for Disease Control only 55% of Americans know what sepsis is.

    A new study suggests women could wait until their mid-twenties or even age 30 before undergoing cervical cancer screening, if they are fully vaccinated against H.P.V. Harvard researchers used a computer model to estimate the risks and benefits of H.P.V. vaccination and pap smears. Current guidelines recommend women over age 21 be screened for cervical cancer every three years.

Programs that paid workers for achieving their daily goal was no more effective than having no incentive at all. But programs that gave cash up front, which was taken away if workers missed their goal, were 50-percent more successful.
