Best tech gadget of the year
Story By: Bea Karnes
Source: NBC
It's become a tradition each year for me to take a look back at all the gadgets and gizmos I evaluate and pick the one's that's personally most fulfilling, the most fun.
It's not the iPhone this year, though it's certainly a fine phone. This year, it's something known as the Cuddeback.
It's known as a trail camera, and I first did a story about it in early November for a piece on how deer hunters were using this technology to take covert pictures of deer movement.
Well since then, I've left the unit I bought up.
I put down some food, corn and carrots, and the camera's motion detector gets anything that moves. At night, it takes black and white infrared pics. I thought you may be interested in what the camera has captured.
I have deer alright, a whole herd of them. Big ones too. They come day and night, but they are not alone. There's wild turkeys, a fox that rushes by so fast he's a blur, a coyote, a flock of landing mallards and my favorite picture...a beaver munching with his deer buddies, kinda like a Walt Disney movie.
It's easily the best $299 I've spent all year on technology.
